Peter Kus

PETER KUS je skladatelj, lutkovni režiser, izdelovalec instrumentov in pedagog. Ustvarja avtorske predstave v katerih raziskuje območje, kjer se križata glasba in lutkovno gledaliče. Rezultat tega so predstave Črna kuhna (2004), Glas (2005), Tristan Vox (2006), Kralj prisluškuje (2007), Izgubljeni ton (2010), Gozd raja! (2012), 造音小子嗶叭蹦 (2014), Zvočna kuhna (2015), Džumbus (2017) in Ponočnjaki (2020). Posveča se tudi drugim lutkovnim žanrom, kot sta uporaba videa (Pojoči grad, 2011), senc (Volčje srce, 2015) in dramskemu gledališču (Nepozabek, 2018). S predstavami je gostoval na številnih mednarodnih festivalih in zanje prejel več nagrad za izvirnost in glasbo (glej spodaj). Peter Kus tudi oblikuje in izdeluje izvirne glasbene instrumente. Septembra 2008 je v Etnografskem muzeju v Ljubljani postavil prvo izmed cikla razstav izvirnih glasbenih inštrumentov Evfonija, s katerimi je v letih 2009 – 2011 gostoval še v Celju in Mariboru. Njegova razstava Zvočni vrt je bila postavljenja v Reimsu (Francija), v Welsu (Avstriji), v Šibeniku, Osijeku in na Reki (Hrvaška), v Kotorju (Črna gora) ter v Ljubljani in Mariboru. Je sooavtor priročnika za izdelovanje izvirnih instrumentov v stripu Pojoči grad (Stripcore, 2010).

PETER KUS is composer, puppet theatre director, instrument builder and educator from Ljubljana, Slovenia. In his latest projects he is exploring the field where music and theatre meet. The results are puppet/musical performances like Black Kitchen (2004), The Voice (2005), Tristan Vox (2006), A King Listens (2007), The Lost Tone (2010), The Forest of Songs (2012), 造音小子嗶叭蹦 (2014), Sound Kitchen (2015) and Bumm, krach, peng (2017). He also investigates other puppet theatre techniques such as video (The Singing Castle, 2011), shadows (Wolfheart, 2015) and drama theater (Forget me not, 2018). The performances were invited to numerous international festivals and received many awards for music and originality (see bellow). Peter Kus is also original musical instrument’s designer and builder. In September 2008 he conceived a widely appraised series of exhibitions of original musical instruments Euphonia, presented in various towns in Slovenia. From 2012 to 2015 his exhibition The Garden of Sound was presented in Reims (France), Wels (Austria), Ljubljana and Maribor (Slovenia), Šibenik, Osijek and Rijeka (all in Croatia) and Kotor (Montenegro). In October 2010 he published a guide book The Singing Castle, a Guide for Making Original Instruments.
